The Tennessee Electric Power Company is a public service corporation, organized under the laws of the State of Maryland, domesticated in Tennessee and engaged in the sale and transmission of electric current, serving a wide territory, principally in Eastern Tennessee. This company absorbed the assets, consisting of plants, real estate, transmission lines, rights-of-way, etc. of the Eastern Tennessee Power Company, a Tennessee corporation, serving the city of Knoxville and surrounding territory.
