This is a petition for a writ of mandamus filed April 18,1928, to secure reinstatement in the fire department of Cambridge. Succinctly stated, the petitioner alleges that he had been a member of the fire department of Cambridge, since 1905; that after a hearing held on November 9, 1925, he was notified that he was suspended with loss of pay as a member of the fire department from November 9, 1925, to April 1, 1926; that no notice was given that he was removed or indefinitely suspended from his employment; that about April 1, 1926, he presented himself for employment to the respondent Casey,…
