Accused was convicted by general court-martial upon two charges involving, respectively, drunken driving and involuntary manslaughter, and an additional charge alleging violation of a general order pertaining to fleeing from the scene of an accident. He was sentenced to receive a dishonorable discharge, to forfeit all pay and allowances, and to be confined at hard labor for three and one-half years.
