Wayne Holleman Travis was convicted of capital murder for the death of Clarene Haskew; he was convicted under § 13A-5-40(a)(4), Ala. Code 1975 — murder committed during the commission of a burglary in the first degree. By a vote of 11 to 1, the jury recommended that Travis be sentenced to death. The trial court followed the jury's recommendation and sentenced Travis to death by electrocution. In a unanimous decision, the Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed Travis's conviction and sentence.
