INTRODUCTION

James P. Patterson appeals his conviction for violation of a protection order, claiming that the order was erroneously admitted into evidence. We disagree and affirm.

BACKGROUND

On January 2, 1997, Mindy Merrill filed an application and affidavit for a protection order and obtained an ex parte protection order against her ex-boyfriend, Patterson. The protection order was served on Patterson later that same day.
