On April 5, 1931, Henry D. DeVault died intestate in Sullivan county, Tenn., leaving about $16,000 in securities, represented by certificates of deposit and other negotiable instruments; he left no descendants, so his next of kin and distributees are his collateral kin. His wife, Mary I. DeVault, predeceased him, having died March 15, 1928. They were married in 1880, more than fifty years ago. At the date of the marriage Mrs. DeVault had some stock and personal property and she received $600 for the sale of land inherited by her from her father’s’estate. After her death, her husband…
