The Township of Wayne is a sprawling residential municipality which is sparsely populated and largely undeveloped. Like many Worth Jersey communities it is fertile territory for extensive development; unlike less fortunate communities it is still in a position to plan and control its development and avoid the ravages which may be observed in unplanned and unsightly urban, and occasional suburban, municipalities.
