The plaintiff in error, hereinafter called defendant, was convicted in the county court of Ottawa county on a charge of maintaining a public nuisance and was sentenced to pay a fine of $100 and to serve 30 days in the county jail.

The information charges in substance that defendant maintained and operated a public dance hall as a nuisance at a concrete block building, formerly a bottling works, so as to annoy, injure, and endanger the comfort and safety and to offend the decency of the neighborhood.
