The town council of the borough of Mechanicsburg enacted an ordinance requiring every person canvassing from house to house, or on the public streets for the purpose of selling or soliciting orders for, by sample or otherwise, boohs, teas, fruits, groceries and merchandise of any kind to take out a license, and imposing a penalty for a violation of its terms.
