This is a case of first impression in this state. Haleen Fancher, appellant herein, and Chester Baker, appellee herein, were involved in an automobile accident in Carroll County on June 15, 1962. At the time of the mishap, Baker was acting in the course of his employment as a rural mail carrier, employed by the United States Government. On August 31. 1964, appellant instituted suit against appellee for damages, asserting that she was severely injured by the collision, and that her injuries were due to the negligence of Baker.
