LOUGHRY, Justice:

The petitioner herein and defendant below, Julia Surbaugh, appeals the July 14, 2014, amended order of the Circuit Court of Webster County denying her motions for a new trial or for judgment of acquittal subsequent to her jury conviction of murder in the first degree without a recommendation of mercy. 1 She asserts multiple assignments of error: the circuit court erred by admitting expert opinion testimony from a deputy medical examiner; the State failed to prove the corpus delicti of murder; the circuit court erred by refusing to dismiss the case based upon the State’s…
