In May, 1937, Pearl Williams, a resident of the city of Chicago, Illinois, and Madison L. Williams, a resident of Indiana, were killed in an automobile accident which occurred in the state of Tennessee. A statute of that state provides that an action for damages for wrongful death may be maintained for the benefit of the heirs of the decedent and that such action shall survive the death of the tortfeasor.
