Appeal from an order of the Supreme Court (Benza, J.), entered May 13, 2003 in Albany County, which denied defendants’ motion to dismiss the complaint.

Plaintiff commenced this action on September 30, 2002 alleging, among other things, that defendant Thomas Abele negligently injured her lingual nerve while extracting four wisdom teeth on January 11, 2000. Defendants moved to dismiss the complaint upon the ground that it was barred by the 2½-year statute of limitations for dental malpractice actions (see CPLR 214-a).
