Appellant’s motion for rehearing is granted. This court’s opinion of September 23, 1999, is withdrawn and this opinion is issued in its place.

Introduction

Appellant, a personal injury plaintiff in the court below, seeks reversal of three summary judgments rendered in favor of defendants/appellees. In a challenge to this court’s appellate jurisdiction, appellees urge the court to dismiss on the ground that appellant failed to timely perfect this appeal. 1 We overrule appellees’ challenge to this court’s jurisdiction.
