The plaintiff, Robert Gough, appeals from the summary judgment rendered by the trial court in favor of the defendants, Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church of South Windsor, Connecticut (St. Peter’s) and the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut (diocese), on his *721claims of negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.
