FLAUM, Circuit Judge.

The appellant, David Neely, appeals from the district court’s order imposing sanctions against him pursuant to Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The district court’s order required Neely, an attorney, to. pay the three defendants over $30,000 in attorneys’ fees. On appeal, Neely argues that Rule 11 sanctions should not have been granted, and that, even if it was proper for the district court to award sanctions, the court abused its discretion by granting such a large award.
