Defendants bring this appeal from a judgment entered in the circuit court in favor of plaintiffs who sought the issuance of a writ of mandamus to compel the City of Chicago to appropriate and pay to the plaintiffs additional compensation for services rendered by them as members of the city council during the years 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1935.
