STROUD, Judge.

Jovar Lamar Ross (“defendant”) appeals from his conviction for delivery of a counterfeit controlled substance and attaining the status of habitual felon. For the following reasons, we find no error.

I. Background

The State’s evidence tended to show that on 25 July 2007, Detective Rene Melley of the Winston-Salem Police Department was working undercover with other detectives in an attempt to purchase illegal narcotics in the area of Chandler Street near Old Greensboro Road in Winston-Salem.
