The appellant, John Edward Hooper, was found guilty of two counts of rape in the second degree and sentenced to two consecutive five-year terms in the State penitentiary. The appellant then filed an amended motion for judgment of acquittal and, in the alternative, for new trial on January 8, 1986, following the receipt of some evidence; a second amended motion was filed by him on January 23, 1986, following the receipt of other pertinent evidence.
