Defendant, Philbert B. Pendleton, appeals the denial of his petition filed pursuant to the Post-Conviction Hearing Act (Act) (725 ILCS 5/122 — 1 et seq. (West 2002)). On appeal, defendant abandons the arguments raised in the petition and instead argues for the first time that, after he pleaded guilty and was sentenced, the trial court failed to admonish him pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 605(b) (210 Ill. 2d R. 605(b)) and that, therefore, he is entitled to a new hearing for proper instructions for withdrawing his guilty plea.
