*815In this action for damages for personal injuries by plaintiff, William E. Whitson, against defendant, American Bridge Company of New York, the trial court, at the conclusion of plaintiff’s evidence, directed a verdict in favor of defendant. Plaintiff appeals.

Plaintiff was injured under the following circumstances :
