| defendant, Michael W. Smith, appeals his convictions and sentences on the charges of attempted aggravated escape and aggravated obstruction of a highway. For the following reasons, we affirm.

FACTUAL AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND

On June 3, 2005, the State charged Defendant, Michael W. Smith, with one count of aggravated escape, in violation of La. R.S. 14:110(C)(1), and one count of aggravated obstruction of a highway, in violation of La.R.S. 14:96. Defendant’s trial began September 7, 2005, and continued through September 9, 2005.
