Catherine Williams, an aged and ignorant negress, owned and resided upon lots 4 and 5, in block 49, in the Baker addition to the city of Houston, and by general warranty deed, dated October 3, 1907, she conveyed the same to appellant, reciting a consideration of $10 in cash, the payment by Chambers of taxes due the city of Houston,' the county of Harris, and the state of Texas, and other valuable considerations in hand paid, the receipt of which was acknowledged.
