Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Schenectady County (Catena, J.), rendered March 30, 2003, upon a verdict convicting defendant of two counts of the crime of grand larceny in the fourth degree.

On two separate dates in late 2001, defendant purchased train tickets—each in excess of $1,000—from an Amtrak station in Schenectady County. One ticket was purchased using a check drawn on a closed bank account and the other on an account that was already overdrawn.
