FORESTER, District Judge.

Defendants Keith Benton, James Ireland, and Clarice Stovall appeal the district court’s denial of their motion for summary judgment asserting qualified immunity. For the following reasons, we REVERSE and REMAND.

I. FACTUAL AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND

Plaintiff-Appellee brought a civil rights action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 for an alleged physical assault he received while incarcerated at the Western Wayne Correctional Facility (‘WCF”) in the State of Michigan.
