TJOFLAT, Circuit Judge:
This case involves a magnetic resonance imaging machine ("MRI") that was irreparably damaged during transportation from Illinois to Texas. The MRI's components were divided into two separate shipments. The machine's owner, Nationwide Imaging Services, Inc., coordinated its transportation with one company, Barrett Moving & Storage, Inc., which transported one of the shipments with its own truck and arranged for a third party, Landstar Transportation Logistics, Inc., to transport the other shipment.
