[¶ 1] Jon F. Dilley shot his mother and his wife to death in the presence of his nine-year-old daughter and six-year-old son. Dilley did not deny shooting the two victims. Rather, the pivotal issue at trial was Dilley’s state of mind at the time he committed the crimes.
