During the time he was employed at the Wicker Park Auto Repair in Chicago, Illinois, Henry Olave was a man with a secret identity. For all the world to see, he was an auto mechanic; only a select group of people were aware that he was also a confidential informant for law enforcement officers. On November 30, 1988, while on the job at the garage, he happened to overhear a conversation between the shop's owner, Freddie Correa, and defendant Julio Velas-co.
