Following a jury trial, the defendant, Robert Hudson, was convicted of murder. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1(a)(1).) He was subsequently sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 20 years. The defendant appeals. We affirm.

At trial, Brenda Miller testified that on March 27, 1986, she and her friend Sammy Robinson drove from Chicago to Joliet in order to pick up their friends, the defendant and his brother Antoine Hudson, and then return to Chicago.
