The appellant is the owner of a large body of farm land situated in Richland County on the Congaree River, two or three miles below the confluence of the Saluda and Broad Rivers which unite to form the Congaree, opposite the City of Columbia.

The respondent is a corporation created by the Act of the General Assembly of South Carolina, approved Feb. 21, 1927, 35 St. at Large, p. 956, and was authorized by that act, and by the license granted it by the Federal Power Commission, to erect a dam on Saluda River some 10 or 12 miles above…
