Defendant New York City Transit Authority appeals from a judgment, which, following a jury trial, awarded plaintiff, Robert Huerta the sum of $1,342,630.58, reduced from $1,746,760.65 to reflect his comparative fault, as a result of personal injuries he sustained in an August 12, 1994 accident in which his foot became caught at the upper landing of an escalator leading from the subway station at Bowling Green.
