MEMORANDUM DECISION
MARSHALL, District Judge.
Plaintiff brings this civil rights action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to recover damages for injuries he sustained when he was a state pretrial detainee at the Cook County Jail. The defendants named in the amended complaint are the Cook County Department of Corrections, its former executive director, three correctional officials in the Department, a jail guard, the Cook County Sheriff, Cook County itself, and the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
