Patients (“Subscribers”) and physicians (“Providers”) have brought lawsuits against health maintenance organizations (“HMOs”) alleging violations of the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”) and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”).
