The defendant was found to be a sexually dangerous person under the provisions of pars 105-1.01 et seq., of chapter 38, Ill Rev Stats 1965, and committed to the custody of the Director of the Department of Public Safety as required by statute. This appeal is from that order of commitment.

Initially, we must examine the question of jurisdiction. It is the contention of the State that this court lacked jurisdiction to grant leave to appeal in this proceeding since more than ten months elapsed from the date of the order of commitment.
