These cross-libels grow out of a collision in the Brewerton channel of the Patapsco river off North Point, about 8 o’clock on the morning of the'seventeenth March, 1885, between the steamship Berkshire, which was coming up the channel towards Baltimore at about 10J knots an hour, and the steamer Frostburg, which was going down the channel at about I knots an hour heavily laden with coal.
