In this certified appeal, 1 the state appeals from the judgment of the Appellate Court reversing the conviction of the defendant, Daniel Morelli, of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor 2 in violation of General Statutes (Rev. to 2003) § 14-227a. 3 State v. Morelli, 103 Conn. App. 289, 300-303, 929 A.2d 759 (2007). On appeal to this court, the state claims that the Appellate Court improperly concluded that the state had not proven the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
