At the time of Ms death, which occurred at about the hour of 4 a. m., standard time, August 17, 1918, T. G. Gregory was and had been for something like fifteen *290years a brakeman in the employ of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company, but at that time the railroad was being operated by the Director General of Railroads under the Federal Control Act.
