The collision complained of occurred on the morning of August 11, 1928, a little earlier than the noon hour. The place of the accident was at the intersection of the Illinois Central Railway Company with a north and south highway, which runs along the east line of the town of Knierim. The Illinois Central Railway runs westerly at this point, and skirts the southern edge of the town. The place of the accident was therefore near the southeast corner of the town.
