Plaintiff instituted this suit seeking to recover compensation for a period of disability not to exceed 400 weeks. He alleged total disability due to a hernia caused by an accident which occurred while performing duties within the course and scope of his employment. He alleged his weekly wages at the time of the accident entitled him to the maximum amount of compensation per week allowed by the Compensation Act of this State (No. 20 of 1914, as amended).
