MELLOY, Circuit Judge.
A jury convicted Norris Holder and sentenced him to death for robbing a bank and killing a bank security guard in St. Louis, Missouri. Following an unsuccessful appeal before this Court, Holder filed a motion pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2255 to vacate, set aside, or correct his sentence, which the district court 1 denied. Holder then moved pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 59(e) to alter or amend the district court’s judgment, and the district court denied that motion as well. Before us now is Holder’s appeal of the district court’s denial of his Rule 59(e) motion.…
