BRYNER, Justice.

I. INTRODUCTION

Ann Malone was injured and Jeffrey Malone was killed while flying from Anchorage to visit a remote Alaska village and school where they expected to begin teaching two weeks later. The Workers’ Compensation Board denied Jeffrey’s estate, his dependents, and Ann benefits, concluding that the accident did not arise in the course of their employment.
