THOMSEN, District Judge.
In these consolidated condemnation cases, the owners of 134 tracts, embracing over 300 lots in Section A of Ocean Beach, on Assateague Island (Assateague), have joined with the Government in submitting to the court without a jury the determination of just compensation for those tracts.
Assateague is 35 miles long and ranges between one-third of a mile and two miles in width, with 22 shoreline miles in Worcester County, Maryland, and 13 in Virginia. The northern part of the island is separated from the mainland by Sinepuxent Bay, the rest by Chincoteague Bay. The…
