The municipal court of Chicago entered a judgment on the verdict of a jury against the Hartford Life Insurance Company for a penalty of $750 in a suit of the fifth class brought by the People of the State of Illinois for a violation of the act prohibiting discrimination between life insurants of the same class and equal expectation of life, by issuing a policy to Alfred Bellstrom for less than the fixed annual premium; The defendant moved the court to strike the amended statement of claim from the files, and one of the reasons assigned was that the act .violated constitutional restrictions…
