This is an appeal of the Monroe County Circuit Court decision upholding the validity of the local option election legalizing the use, possession and sale of alcohol within the city limits of Aberdeen, Mississippi. Bob Kelly, individually and as chairman of Citizens Against Legalized Liquor, relying on a published newspaper article as the latest official census, objected to the validity of the election on the basis that the population of Aberdeen was less than 7000.
