Nicholas McGirk appeals from his conviction under section 565.084 of tampering with a judicial officer. We affirm.

Facts

On the morning of April 16, 1997 at approximately 10:45 a.m., after having previously read in the newspaper that his friend, Earl Paxton, had been arrested on suspicion of a felony, Appellant walked into the Pettis County Courthouse. Appellant approached Linda Rodewald, a deputy clerk for the Honorable Gary W. Fleming, to inquire as to whether Paxton was in jail and if any charges had been filed against him.
