Deborah Meek Hickerson sustained serious internal injuries in a personal watercraft ("PWC") accident and filed a complaint in the District of South Carolina against the manufacturers of the PWC, Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (collectively "Yamaha"). In her complaint, Hickerson alleged product liability claims under South Carolina law for design and warning defects.
