Colonel James Bowie, in 1831, received a grant of a league of land as a married man, and a colonist of Austin’s colony. His wife Ursula died in 1833, leaving no children. On January 14,1867, the surviving brother and sisters of Mrs. Bowie, claiming to be her heirs, filed their petition of trespass to try title to the undivided half of the league in the District Court of Colorado county, making W.
