John Priest brought this action against the appellant to recover a reward of $1000, offered by the company for the arrest and conviction of any person guilty of cutting, pulling or tearing down or misplacing its telephone wires, posts or machinery, or unlawfully obstructing or interfering with the transmission of messages along its telephone wires in violation of article 784 (677), Texas Penal Code.
