Defendant International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers (who will hereinafter be referred to as the defendant) is an international association of boiler makers and kindred craftsmen, organized as a labor union, having a regularly adopted constitution and bylaws, and engaged, inter alia, in the business of writing fidelity bonds for local or subordinate lodges, protecting such lodges against dishonesty on the part of their respective officers.
