Dear Representatives, Ernest J. Istook,

¶ 0 The Attorney General has received your letter asking for an official opinion addressing, in effect, the following questions:

1. May the Legislature provide for the appointment ofExecutive Branch officers by someone other than the Governor? 2. Is it constitutionally permissible, in light of the StateConstitution's Separation of Powers provisions, for theLegislature to reserve unto itself the power to appoint ExecutiveBranch officers?
